Bah humbug!

turkeyAs the snow continues to fall, I wanted to wish you a healthy, happy, sustainable and prosperous 2010 to one and all from the Green.

The seasonal cheer, with its excess of luxury and abundance is almost over. And I for one am most delighted at this happenstance! I am not Scrooge, but there comes a limit to merriment.

Christmas has but Twelve days, as I recall starting upon Christmas Eve and lasting until Epiphany - yet the peddlers of Christmas tat seem to start marketing in August, and have our wallets emptying through unto the January sales.

I cannot look to another walnut or chocolate for some time.   My waistline will thank me. It is a way of decreasing the surplus puppy fat!

Alright, perhaps I am making the gradual drift towards Ebenezer.  But he found salvation in the message of taking good care of his employees and understanding his customers problems and needs.

We could do well to remember this, as economic times slowly improve.

I hope that we can meet together and create a prosperous and sustainable 2010. Our first meeting of the year (Provisional date : February 11) covers finance, subsidies and investment within our sector.

Scrooge would be proud.

Keith, on behalf of the Green Team
